Hi, I’m Dustin Greystone

I’m a freelance product designer in Durham, North Carolina.

I also provide small batch manufacturing out of my personal workshop using a large-format laser cutter and several 3D printers.

 Services

  • This bad boy is a 100W Thunder Laser Nova 51. Work area is 51” x 32” and can cut 1/2” thick, and can pass through up to 8’ by 4’ material.

Nova 51 can cut or etch a variety of materials including wood/plywood and acrylic. Etching is available for metal but unfortunately cutting is not.

Pricing includes setup & run time, with optional services available for digital file setup, material sourcing, and delivery.

Turnaround on small/medium jobs is generally within three to seven days once materials and the digital file are delivered.

  • I currently work with two 3D printers, and am hopefully adding a third soon.

Required services for 3D printing include digital file review, setup, runtime, and material costs.

Post-print finishing (smoothing, etc) is available for an additional fee.

3D printers require a very precise digital file so all orders include a file verification process for me to ensure a successful print. If the digital file requires modification in order to print, additional fees may apply.

Turnaround time on 3D prints start at 3 days once the digital file is complete, and may take up to an additional day for each unit requested.

The Form 3 by FormLabs is a high fidelity resin printer. It can print up to 5.5 x 5.5 x 7 inches and delivers high quality prints. Resin materials are quite expensive so if you’re looking for prototype level printing I recommend the Ender 3.

The Ender-3 V2 by Creality has a print size of 8.5 x 8.5 x 9.5 inches and supports PLA, TPU and PETG filaments. Print precision is at +/- 0.1mm and filaments are 1.75mm in diameter.

The Ender-3 is perfect for prototyping and proof of concept printing. The filament material is inexpensive, and the printed product often looks “rough”.

  • I offer comprehensive 3D design & rendering services. These services may be required to prepare the digital files for laser cutting or 3D printing.

I’m also happy to provide CAD or rending services on projects unrelated to my manufacturing services.

CAD and rendering services start at $60/hour.

  • This is actually my favorite work. I am a freelance product designer and would love to partner with you on either solving a problem or developing a product.

Product design services start with a free 30 minute consultation, and then are priced at $125/hour or can be quoted per project.
